Course length: 1/2-day
Course Overview
Microsoft’s Office Access is Microsoft’s popular database program. Microsoft Access is an information management tool that allows you to store, report, and analyze information within a relational database. If you're trying to use Excel to manage large amounts of information, then chances are Microsoft Access will be helpful to you. Access makes it easy to keep track, organize, and sort your data.
This course guides access users through the process of planning a relational database in Access. Although you can always make changes to your database when necessary, a little planning before you begin can save time later on. When you plan a database, consider how you will use the data. What kind of data are you collecting? What kind of data are you entering? How are data values related to one another? Can your data be organized into separate, smaller groups? What kinds of safeguards can you create to ensure that errors do not creep into your data? As you consider these questions, you should apply the answers as you structure your database.
In this advanced Microsoft Access course, students will be guided through planning a database and practice the initial stages of building tables and relationships.
